Overview

The Quantum NDX-8 Series NAS storage units provide simplified data protection for small businesses. The NDX-8d comes preconfigured with DATASTOR Shield data deduplication software and performs an agentless client backup, meaning there is no software to install on the clients being protected either. In addition, customer's save up to 75% on backup software licensing and support using DATASTOR Shield. Deduplication provides up to 90% reduction in backup related network traffic and data stored. The disaster recovery options include replication to a 2nd NDX-8d or offsite to a Quantum RDX 8000. In addition, the NDX-8 series units use the Windows Storage Server operating system allowing customers to install Windows based applications like Microsoft Exchange directly on the NDX-8 – something not possible with Linux based NAS devices.

  meet SMB needs for data protection and primary storage.

  • The NDX-8d is a NAS device designed specifically to reduce SMB costs for backup and
    disaster recovery. The NDX-8d comes preconfigured with DATASTOR Shield
    deduplication software to reduce network traffic and data stored by up to 90%.
  • The NDX-8 is a primary storage NAS device that integrates seamlessly with the NDX-8d,
    as both products have identical hardware and operating systems. It features enterpriseclass
    hard drives plus twice the processing power and RAM of any product in its class.
    The RDX 8000 is an eight-slot removable disk library with iSCSI connectivity for backup
    and disaster recovery. The RDX 8000 is available two ways with Symantec Backup Exec
    QuickStart or with DATASTOR Shield deduplication software to control data growth and
    reduce cartridge use by 2/3 or more.
